Moblin
The Moblin Architecture is designed to support multiple platforms and usage models ranging from Netbooks to Mobile Internet Devices (MID), to various embedded usage models, such as the In Vehicle Infotainment systems. The central piece of the architecture is the common layer we call "Moblin Core", a hardware and usage model independent layer that provides one uniform way to develop such devices. Underneath the Moblin Core sits the Linux kernel and device drivers specific to the hardware platform, and above the Moblin Core are the specific user interface and user interaction model for the target device.
this Linux distibutive is developed for the needs of the netbook-owners and specially for the Intel Atom platform, so I think this can be tried also at Eee-Box PC and the same solution from Acer Aspire as well.
EasyPeasy
This is formely Eeebuntu distro, re-mastered for the wider area of netbooks on the Intel Atom platform as well with a NetbookRemix-like interface.
Brand New Interface
Your netbook is not your typical laptop, so why should you use a typical laptop interface? The Netbook Remix interface allows fast access to all your favorite programs all from one place. Never again will you have to hunt through menus to find what you need.

For surfing the web Easy Peasy includes the greatest web browser available: Firefox 3. It's designed to provide a faster, more secure web browsing experience to date.
Office On-the-Go
Includes OpenOffice 3, a free office software suite featuring compatibility with all major office software, you can get all your work done from just about anywhere you can work on your netbook.

Improvements have been made across the board to support all netbooks ensuring you'll be supported no matter what netbook you choose.
Sabayon
This awesome-looking distro is Gentoo-based and declares greate features out-of-the box for most of the modern PCs and notebooks as a working station.
Sabayon Linux is an operating system powered by the Linux kernel and GNU. There are many Linux flavors, but most geeks just call them distributions. We are a Linux distribution, though, and try to provide our users the best and most complete computing experience.
Our philosophy follows two simple statements:
A) OOTB (out of the box) Functionalities: There should be no problems and everything should "just work."
B) KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid!
Moreover, to achieve this, Sabayon Linux uses Gentoo Linux as its base. It is (and always will be) 100% compatible with it. We are one of the most scalable distributions and are happy to support everyone from the most creative kernel hacker to the newbie. How? Because of point A above, and because Gentoo Linux is THE most extensible Linux distribution, no one can say anything to the contrary.
What Sabayon Linux is NOT
* It is NOT a binary-only distribution. Yes, you can install Sabayon Linux in half an hour and have a powerful desktop under your hands. But, our current policy does not support the idea to fork Gentoo Linux package management because users don't like to waste time compiling. We have a clear idea; if you don't want to compile a lot of packages just wait for the next release, because you always be able to:
o Update your current installation to the latest Sabayon Linux by running the Sabayon Linux installer and choosing the Upgrade option
o Keep up to date, Sabayon Linux release cycles are very, very short. If you just want to keep your PC secure, just use the glsa-check utility.
* It is NOT developed with politics in mind. This means that if we like an application over another, it's just because it could work better and be closer to our OOTB philosophy described above.
* It is NOT company-driven. We have always been users, and then developers. That's our power and our view. We only want something that works without Microsoft and their superficial operating system implementation!
* It is NOT Ubuntu! We don't try to mimic any other distribution, we just take the best from each one.
this is the most interesting from-the-first-look distributive of the last time which I think I should try at home by myself.
Jolicloud
No, this has nothing in common with Angelina ;) this is a cloud-computing OS for the wide society which now collect users and declares proccess of sending invites for beta-testing.
Jolicloud is an Internet operating system[1]. It combines the two driving forces of the modern computing industry: the open source and the open web.
Jolicloud transforms your netbook into a sophisticated web device that taps into the cloud to expand your computing possibilities. The web already hosts a significant part of our lives: mails, photos, videos, and friends are already somewhere online. Jolicloud was built to make the computer and web part of the same experience.
The online world is taking processing power away from our computers, so we won't need expensive machines in the future. The web improves itself, so we don't need to replace machines all the time to be able to run newer versions of operating systems or office suites.
But the real catalyst of change has been the arrival of the netbooks: they started as an experimental low cost laptop for kids and they now radically change our views on how much we are willing to pay for personal computers. Think about it: computers are now becoming cheaper than mobile phones and MP3 players.
We feel privileged to witness this rebirth of the computer culture and are very excited about the world changes it can foster: More affordable means more people around the world connecting with knowledge, more communication between people and more balanced access to computing power with less cost, format or geographical limitations.
We come from the web, so we built our user interface mostly using its core technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS). We have integrated our web DNA into the OS to make it modular, social and personal. Our developer platform relies on the web and will let anyone or any service join in no time. With our API, developers will have the ability to let their website communicate with the computer directly with no need to code specific native applications.
Other Linux distros
Some more interesting Linux distros for your laptop, PC or netbook can be found via Linux Freedom Site
What distributive you should choose for your personal needs is still your choice. But remember that media-aimed and entertainment-oriented distros are a little bit different from those ones which are used by netbooks and older PCs for the efficient hardware-working. just test and enjoy the result, 'cause the choice is possible ;)
